Georgia Tech Office of Undergraduate Education
CHALLENGE
The Georgia Tech Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) has a broad set of responsibilities to support undergraduate student success including academic support, advising, career exploration and experiences, and transformational learning initiatives. Following an extensive organizational assessment and restructuring, the OUE leadership selected Greenway Strategy Group to strategically align the goals and activities across the Office to best meet the needs of all customers and accomplish priorities of the Georgia Tech Institute Strategic Plan.
APPROACH
Conducted individual interviews with leaders across Georgia Tech’s academic, student well-being, and enrollment functions
Facilitated focus groups with students, campus partners, and academic deans
Engaged all OUE staff through several iterative sessions using a variety of tools and methods
Facilitated and supported the leadership team to create a strategic alignment framework including a shared statement of purpose, priority outcomes, core practices, and alignment of each unit’s projects and initiatives with the shared core practices
Facilitated design of integrated, multi-year action plans for priority initiatives
Engaged the leadership team in setting guiding principles for how OUE staff will work together and facilitated input and reflection on the guiding principles across the entire organization
IMPACT
OUE’s strategic direction was formally launched in December of 2024, aligning the work of previously disparate units toward a common purpose addressed through shared core practices. Three priorities were established to focus the work across the Office, each with clearly defined objectives and alignment to the Georgia Tech Institute Strategic Plan:
Academic excellence
Transformative learning
Student success
